Rally in Minnesota Draws Thousands

Thousands of protesters gathered in Minnesota before the Minnesota/Washington NFL game today. Minnesota has a deep Native American/American Indian history and police estimate that 3,200 people were in attendance. The "Not Your Mascot" protest was also supported by the Mayor of Minneapolis, Betsy Hodges, who was present.

One Gathering Skate Comp - StrongHold Society

The Stronghold Society is a Native American organization seeking to support youth through suicide intervention. They have been utilizing skateboarding as a key tool in this project.

Stronghold Society supports a "Skate for Life" Program and several skateparks - Wounded Knee 4-Directions Skateparks.

Us PateNt & trademark office cancel washington football trademark

Nationally there has been a call to #changethemascot of the Washington Redskins.
The US Patent and Trademark Office just took a giant step to do just that - revoking the trademark for the football team and bringing Washington and the nation one step closer to #changingthemascot. The office called the mascot "disparaging to Native Americans." Check out The Washington Post's coverage here...
